Evaporation step is different from others chemical operation ,there are heat transfer process and separation process in the run time . So in regard to the choice of material , we should consider the material’s corrosion resistance also high temperature corrosion resistance and heat transfer performance in the progress of heat transfer part
The common
material in the evaporation equipment are carbon steel ,304 stainless
steel ,316L stainless steel , duplex steel and titanium .
The first choice
is carbon steel for some no corrosion material .
We can choose 304 stainless steel if there are cleaning requirement’s no corrosion material and not so serious corrosion .
We should choose 316L stainless steel under the condition that the corrosion is serious but there is no chloride ions exist or the content of chloride ions is very low in the materials .
Generally we choose duplex steel and titanium if the material is
Chlorine ions especially in the acidic condition . But the duplex steel and
titanium can not be apply to any conditions , we should choose the better
material in the Chloride ion environment under the stronger acid .
